Our approach

“Each Good Soil plant is thoughtfully paired with a unique vessel—from vintage teacups and bottles to unexpected pieces of old kitchenware. Rather than simply taking home a plant, you're taking home a one-of-a-kind little arrangement, curated to bring beauty and character into your space.”

— The Good Soil mission

From the care guide

Every plant comes with instructions

Pothos

Epipremnum aureum

Bright indirect light, water when the top two inches dry out. Forgiving even for a first-timer.

Snake Plant

Dracaena trifasciata

Adaptable to low light, thrives on neglect. Overwatering is the only real risk.

About

The story behind Good Soil

Good Soil started in a big-box clearance aisle — the shelf of plants too far gone to sell at full price. Most of them just needed water, light, and a little patience. So we started buying them, nursing them back, and giving them a second life.

The vessels came the same way. Thrifted teacups, old bottles, dented tins, chipped stoneware — pieces with a past, rescued right alongside the plants that go in them. Every pairing is one of a kind, because no two rescues are ever quite the same.

We don't ship anything. Every plant is handed over in person — at a local market, a local pickup, a real conversation about how to keep it alive. That's the whole idea: not a nursery, a neighbor who's good with plants.

Yes. Reserving just holds the plant for you — no card details, nothing charged. Payment happens in person at pickup.

Some are, some aren't — look for the "Pet Friendly" tag on each listing, and every plant's care guide notes toxicity so you know before you bring it home.

Message Lola with what you're after. Inventory changes week to week based on what gets rescued, so she'll keep an eye out for you.
